University of Michigan-Dearborn Opportunity ScholarshipCriteria: The University of Michigan-Dearborn Opportunity Scholarship awards an annual scholarship of $2,000 for up to four years. Among the scholarship recipients, 12 students will be selected to receive a renewable full-tuition and select fees scholarship. All Opportunity Scholarship recipients will be invited to compete for the full tuition awards. Scholarship renewal is subject to an annual review. Recipients are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and maintain a minimum of half-time enrollment. * Meet the 2007 and 2008 Opportunity Scholars * View the Opportunity Scholarship flyer (pdf) * View the list of eligible schools Minimum Requirements: * Must be admissible to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. * High school seniors admitted with a minimum recalculated GPA of 3.0 at the time of admission. * Students must be enrolled in a public high school in school districts with an economic disadvantaged status of 70% or greater as recognized by the State of Michigan (details on http://www.michigan.gov/cepi) from the counties of Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, or Wayne. Students enrolled in charter schools located within the geographic location of these districts are also included. * Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and meet Michigan residency requirements for in-state tuition. * Students are still eligible to receive the Chancellor's or Dean's scholarships as well as interview for one of the 12 Full Tuition Opportunity Scholarships.
