The BARBARA PALO FOSTER Memorial Scholarship AwardCriteria: The Barbara Palo Foster Memorial Scholarship Award was established to support the financial needs of young adults who have lost a parent/guardian to cancer or have a parent/guardian with cancer, and are seeking higher education in the field of nursing. This award was created by Barbara's daughters to honor their mother, who was known and loved by many as a dedicated nurse, health educator and feminist activist. Although her five-year fight with cancer ended when Barbara was just 35 years old, her strength, character and open heart will be forever remembered by her daughters and the countless family members, friends and colleagues who miss her still today. Grateful for the gift of Barbara’s work, life, and love, her daughters now hope to share their mother’s amazing spirit with a new generation of exceptional nurses through this annual award.
