The world has never been better for gamers. Rapidly improving technology has ensured that gamers can have the experience that they could only fantasize about a few years back. Just like bookworms always carry a book with themselves so that they can sneak a read, whenever they get the opportunity, gamers would also like to carry their favorite games with them so that they can play whenever they find the opportunity. And what better way to do that than having an adequately configured gaming laptop.

So what does a good gaming laptop require? Lets start of with size and weight, if you are looking for a gaming laptop that you can carry around to your friends’ place, on long commutes and to your classes or work, then you should go for something small and light. But then you would have to accept some compromises on the graphics and sound quality, because lighter machines wont’ provide you with the ideal levels of power required by latest heavy duty games. So that would also depend upon how frequently you play the latest, heavy duty games.

Moving on to monster laptops, they would provide you with superb graphics and work scintillatingly with most modern games. But they are power guzzlers, so don’t expect decent battery life and moreover, you would be cursing its weight while carrying it around.

Now irrespective of the fact whether you choose a light-weight or a heavy laptop, you should make sure that you have a good graphics card. It should be powerful enough to support heavy duty graphics of latest games, if that’s the sort of games you like to play. Though for the classic games, a regular graphics card would do, for a laptop dedicated to gaming, you should get a graphics card that is significantly more powerful than regular ones.
