Groups and clubs at college helps a student learn a lot about their relationships with the fellow students and professors. Groups and college are a great means for students to find peers that have similar interests. Every student can form small groups at college to share their thoughts, ideas and interests regarding life. This enhances their knowledge and skills in different spheres, and also gives them relief from continuous study. Contact the administrative officer of your college to find out how to start groups and clubs at college. This may involve attending oriental meetings, filling out paperwork, etc. If your college does not provide any interesting extracurricular activities, start your own groups and clubs.

Instructions On How To Start A Group

  • Before starting groups and clubs at college, check with the school principal to ensure that the club or group you wish to start does not already exist in someway you are unaware of. If you discover that a club exited in the past, try to find out the reason why it ended.
  • Try to find out the requirements of your school for starting a new club. Most colleges support setting up new clubs; hence the process shouldn’t be very difficult.
  • Seek a sponsor who will support your clubs and groups. Generally, school officials and teachers are responsible for student extracurricular activities. The sponsors may either repel or attract the members. Hence, choose the sponsor carefully.
  • Hire your club members cautiously. Get permission from your college to post notices that will announce about your club all over the campus. Also, hire a contact person whom students will approach if they are willing to join your club at college.
  • Schedule a meeting with your club members to discuss the activities and events your new club will pursue. Try to run your college club in an organized way so that everyone works according to the planning. This will help to avoid all types of confusions.
  • Set up club structures. Appoint officers and split up the duties. Also, make plans to increase the necessary funds.

With a sponser, members and funding you will have all the basics to move forward with event planning and expanding your club or group base amongst the school population.  Another means of promotion to consider is the creation of a website so students and members can keep up to date with regards to news and events.
