Parties are great ways to enjoy your life when you are in college. But it is not so easy to immediately know when the next party is happening as soon as you are in college. For this, you need to keep in mind some tips. In this article you will find the tips that you can follow if you want to get into any college party.

1) Get involved in every activity of the college: Try to be a part of almost all the activities in the college. This will help you be in touch with the people who are regulars in college parties. You should be friendly to everyone because you never know who can help you get into a party. A fraternity or a sorority is a obvious choice for joining if they are present in your college. If not then go and join any club or any other organization. The more you mix, more are the chances of getting invitations for going to college parties.

2) Do not get in a college party in big groups: It is always better that you and your friends break up into small groups for getting in to college parties. If you are in a big group, chances are that you might not have the opportunity of getting in.

3) Carry in your own alcohol: It is a smart thing to do because of mainly two reasons. One is that there is a chance of anyone fixing you a drink laced with drugs. Another reason is no one can think that you are too cheap a person who does not want to buy his or her own drinks.

4) Wear the right kind of shoes: It is important to choose your footwear carefully before going to a college party. Parties might be held in dirty basements, then wear those footwear which would not get ruined after a beer party. Do not spoil your expensive shoes.

Follow these tips and you will be a regular in college parties.

Distance Learning Advantages

There are a lot of opinions revolving and having been thought of around the small issue which is turning to a big issue of distance learning. Distance learning or education is completing a curriculum of studies without being present in a classroom. The quality of education is usually better than that of a class room since most individuals who choose distance learning to obtain their education is more self motivated and every bit as conscientious about their education as their counterpart in the class room.

Due to today’s technology, made in part by the internet, more people than ever before are choosing distance learning over traditional class room settings as the vehicle of choice to obtain their education. Convenience cost of travel and other costs associated with a more traditional setting and busy schedules are just some of the reasons more students are taking course work through distance education institutions. After all, consider the commute time to and from a campus and the delays between classes. Wouldn’t your time be better spent on studies, leisure time or even time with your family or friends? College life is about experiencing new things on your own and to avoid getting burned out from all that studying and slight nagging from parents. In a lot of countries, distance learning is a very common thing.

After graduation, the student goes all the way to the college of their choice and lives in the college or university dormitory or a place nearby where they can rent out for the remainder of their stay in their university or colle

One of the hardest things to do in college is to stay fit. There are so many things that can throw us off our diet. There is the place you always get your dessert fix everyday. There is also a franchise of McDonalds around the corner. There are also many things to be finished that you tend to forget to exercise. Before you know it, you gained ten pounds. Here are some tips to stay fit during college.

Always eat breakfast. It might be hard to remember to eat breakfast especially when you are rushing to different campus programs. But breakfast is the most important part of the day. And missing breakfast would slow down your metabolism that would eventually lead to faster weight gain.

Do not binge on junk food. It is fine to eat the occasional servings of cake and fries. But do not eat this on a daily basis. It is not just very unhealthy. But it all goes to the hips.

Drink lots of water. Water would not make you as hungry and will help you cut back from eating food high in calories.

Eat lots of greens and fruits. Vegetables would make your digestive system function better.

Do exercise. Instead of riding a car to the next building, walk to the building. The fresh air would do you good. The walk would also help you trim some inches off the tummy. It will be good if you can set a time every week to exercise. Bring along a friend who might be taking up the same bachelors degree to keep you company.

Why Should You Take Class Notes?

Jason Stollham

Some say class notes have become almost synonymous with college life. Many students take notes without really understanding the purpose behind it. It is like an automated response where they follow what the others are doing and what the teacher expects of them. However, there are a number of reasons for taking lecture notes.

  1. Instills better listening habits. While taking down notes, you are forced to listen carefully and concentrate on the discussion. This in turn facilitates the learning process
  2. Identifying the main points in the discussion. This is one of the best reasons for a student to make class notes. It helps to identify the important ideas or principles being discussed. You will also be able to distinguish between necessary and unimportant information
  3. Retain necessary information. Taking down notes will help you remember information in a more precise and organized manner. They form excellent study guides before the exams.
  4. Best source of external information. Class notes are like invaluable mines as far as references and outside information are concerned. They tell you all that is not in the text books and also give out valuable clues as to what information is considered important by the speaker. Also, class lectures often give out ideas or concepts that may be difficult to come across in a library or on the internet
  5. Source of information regarding class assignments. Attending lectures and making notes will help you remember everything discussed in the classes. Most teachers base the test questions on their lectures. And they inadvertently give out information about their test questions during these lectures. While going through the notes before the exam, you can get a fairly good idea of what questions you might be asked to answer
  6. Makes students an active participant in the learning process. As you write down the basic ideas and theories propagated, you will get a good idea of where the lecture is heading. You will be able to think and analyze things on your own. This will definitely make you more involved in the discussion. You can ask questions and clarify your doubts. This in turn will enhance the learning

It has been noticed that information that is understood, may not always be remembered. So it is mandatory to write it down. Learning to make effective notes will help you to not only improve your study and work habits and remember important information, but also develop an accurate means of arranging necessary information.

Taking notes is a major part of every student’s class time. It is a vital skill, which has a major contribution in determining the degree of success or failure of a student. Note taking is not only limited to students, people take notes at work as well during meetings and in discussions about different projects.

People have diverse opinions on taking notes. Some do not take notes at all, preferring to concentrate on listening and understanding well, and then going on to writing everything down in an organized manner, after the discussion is over. But a lot of people swear by their note taking, because most of them find it difficult to recall all the significant aspects of a discussion, no matter how closely they paid attention. So if you are someone who makes it a point to take notes whether in the classroom or the workplace, hang on, for you may find an undiscovered gem in the following tips.

Be flexible:

By flexibility I am referring to non-linearity, a lot of people have the habit of taking notes in a linear form. This can be time consuming, moreover in reality, lectures, meetings and other events, where you have to take notes, usually do not follow a linear pattern. So try to write in a free flowing manner and make use of maps, diagrams and tables.

Get the concept:

Rather than writing everything in detail, try to get the essential aspects of the discussion. You may also have your own thoughts about the subject being discussed. Write them down as well.

Create your own short-forms and symbols:

Liberally use symbols, abbreviations and short forms of words. It will save you a lot of time and help you take down a lot more, than you could earlier.

Review

Review your notes as soon as you get the time. Reviewing helps you to enhance your notes significantly. The sooner you can do it, the better, because the discussion would be still fresh in your mind and you can add more ideas and inputs that you were unable to add during the discussion due to urgency.

Every student can form small groups at college to share their thoughts, ideas and interests regarding life. This enhances their knowledge and skills in different spheres, and also gives them relief from continuous study. • Try to find out the requirements of your school for starting a new club. Most colleges support setting up new clubs; hence the process shouldn’t be very difficult.
  • Seek a sponsor who will support your clubs and groups. Generally, school officials and teachers are responsible for student extracurricular activities. The sponsors may either repel or attract the members. Hence, choose the sponsor carefully.
  • Hire your club members cautiously. Get permission from your college to post notices that will announce about your club all over the campus. Also, hire a contact person whom students will approach if they are willing to join your club at college.
  • Schedule a meeting with your club members to discuss the activities and events your new club will pursue. Try to run your college club in an organized way so that everyone works according to the planning. This will help to avoid all types of confusions.
  • Set up club structures. Appoint officers and split up the duties. Also, make plans to increase the necessary funds.

With a sponser, members and funding you will have all the basics to move forward with event planning and expanding your club or group base amongst the school population.  Another means of promotion to consider is the creation of a website so students and members can keep up to date with regards to news and events.

Those who have skills to write can share their knowledge with the world by writing research papers. It is not at all easy to start writing a research paper; you must follow certain formats and rules that are inconsistent all over the world. Many people do not know how to start a research paper; and here are few steps that will lead to success.

Step By Step Writing Research Paper

Step 1: Before you start writing, choose the topic prudently. This deciding factor is crucial because it determines the content’s quality, and also how information will be provided to the readers. If you choose a topic on which you don’t have much knowledge, you will not be able to write the paper successfully. When you get a list of topics, think for some time to gather your ideas. You must ensure that your research paper topic is not very simple, so that it fails to appeal the readers.

Step 2: After you choose the topic, complete thorough research. Ensure that you have all necessary information to accomplish your writing successfully. You may search the web to gather information on the topic you are writing. Decide on the keywords which will help you to find the right information using search engines.

Step 3: The next step involves organizing your collected materials. Beginners sometimes find it easier to organize their research chronologically, and list down all the information in a proper way. Before writing always make an outline so that you can achieve this objective. If you write the research paper in an organized manner, your reader will face no trouble while reading. Keep continuity in your writing and avoid any types of grammatical mistakes.

Step 4: After completing, you must check out your writing quality, and make changes if there are any grammar or spelling errors. You must read and re-read your writing unless you get exhausted with all possible corrections. You can ask your professor regarding the format of the research paper, or may search the Internet or library. It is also useful to have a friend or family member read your work to get an outside point of view.

Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to creating clear, concise and quality rich essays and research papers.
