Working on Campus can be really exciting and fun. What can be better than staying at the campus, having friends around and at the same time making money? However, most of the campus jobs do not get posted; you will have to seek for these jobs. Here are some important steps that you can follow to start working on Campus.
Look for a suitable job – The first step towards working on campus is to look at the on-campus job board in the Student Union outside of the administrative office. You can also search for the On Campus Jobs web sites but most of the times these jobs do not get posted in the job sites. So, it is advised that you seek the jobs yourself by asking your professors if they require some research or teaching assistant. You can also ask in your department for any vacancy. There are many types of jobs available for those who wish to work on Campus. You can either opt for:
- Full time jobs
- Internship jobs
- Summer jobs
- Part-time jobs
Apply for the job - After you have found the job that would reserve your purpose, apply for it. You can ask any of your seniors to help you about the process of applying for the job. You can also seek the help of your professors.
Attend the interview - After you have applied for the post, you will have to attend the interview. Get prepared to tactfully answer all the questions of the interviewer. The interviewer may ask about any work experience, your interests and the reason why you need the job. The employer will give you Intent to Hire Form. This form notifies the office that you have been hired and that your employer intends to hire you.
Wait for the result – At times, the management may take some time to announce the names of those who are selected. This depends upon the number of students applying for a particular job.
Commence your employment – After you get the job and start working on Campus, give it your best shot. Be a responsible employee and create a positive impression in your work place.
