The cost of higher education is rising irrespective of the geographical boundaries. Due to this reason, several questions have cropped up, related to the accessibility of higher education for the middle class. Even though some students are eager to pay for the course, they are confused regarding the utility of the course or degree programs. Students, pursuing higher education often require financial aid from their parents or depend on governmental grants. The latter is often restricted to a particular university or institution.
Several studies are conducted every year in US and other countries to evaluate the reason of increase in the cost of higher education. Measures are also taken to control the rate of tuition fees and open more options for funds, loans and grants for students.
Status of the states at a glance :
The data below shows the expected and approximate tuition fees for the session 2007-2008.
- Colorado - University of Colorado has planned to fuel the tuition fees at Boulder by 14% to 15%. This rise is for general students but those with financial liabilities, fees have been increased by 5%.
