The medical transcriptionist is required to maintain a transcription log. In this log, he may sort, copy, prepare, assemble and file records.

The dictation tapes are collected along with transcripted reports by the Medical transcriptionist.

They are very vital since the main record of the patient who comes for a doctor’s advice is kept in that. For further communication with the doctor, this record is extremely essential.

The Medical Transcriptionist also collect, tabulates, and generates reports on statistical data. They are sometimes required to do miscellaneous jobs as well.
