One of the hardest experiences for a college student would be the act of adjusting to the first year of school.
Many schools would have some campus program for freshmen students. These programs would orient the students as to what to expect from college life and how they are to go about for the next four years of their life. Freshmen students usually attend an orientation. This orientation would brief the students about the different campus degrees and how they are to go about in the campus. They would usually orient the students on the different schedules they are to adhere to. Students are also oriented about the different ways one can go about the campus.
The school would usually come up with some program that would allow the freshmen students to mingle around and make friends. There are often orientations from different organizations that will give the students an idea of what organization they opt to join. These organizations also serve as networks of connections for students to make more friends and be more involved in the university activities.
Another program the school could possibly do for the freshmen student would be some sort of counseling. In order for the school to ensure that the student is doing fine, the doors of the guidance counselor are usually open for freshmen students as they are aware that these students are having difficulties adjusting to college life.
