What do you want to study? Tells us something about you? And what about the main college application essay or worse essays? What should you write?

Here are some tips to consider as you start putting pen to paper:

1. Start with an outline: Start with an outline and figure out the main points you want to touch on before you start writing.

2. Stay Focused: make sure you answer the question in full

3. Structure your essay: Make sure you have a clear beginning, a middle, and an end.

4. Get to the point: don’t get lost, make sure you don’t lose your reader along the way

5. Make it unique: think of a topic that is unique to you. Personal experiences and stories can draw in and interest readers

6. Make it your own: Giving it your own flare can give a refreshing twist to an essay

Now you have some focus, good luck!

Earning a doctorate degree online can cost tens of thousands. While many brick-and-mortar schools offer doctorate students paid teaching fellowships, online students are not afforded this luxury. If your new doctorate degree will help you be a better employee, you may ask your employer to pay for a portion of your doctorate degree costs. Many graduate students qualify to take out government subsidized student loans with lower-than-average interest rates. Additionally, private student loans are available from banks and lending institutions. Your online school’s financial aid advisor can help you determine which options are right for you. As the highest degree attainable in the United States, a doctorate degree can prepare you to work in leadership positions, university-level professorships, or other highly skilled professions.

Now, there are several types of masters degree available in a number of huge universities but having scholarship programs should be the apple the every eyes should aim for. These scholarship programs not only level the playing field between the capable and the less fortunate but it also gives a chance to those intellectuals that are out there in this world. The world can be fair at time but often times than not it, is not. Before, there were not so many people that can go to have the benefit or would even think of having a doctorate degree. So before actually enrolling in an online class make sure you we be able to keep up with the expenses and the requirements needed to pursue such endeavor.

First hand is better

In anything or everything, to be there and experience something first and is very important. As human beings, we not only learn from reading and absorbing knowledge through education videos and recordings of leanings which is very popular to psychologist for how long already. This is why it is important to have a campus degree. Having a campus degree simply means that one has garnered his education within the premises of a legitimate university or college. Though simply said, this is not as simple as it sounds. One takes at least four years in order to graduate from a full course in college or in a university and for further studies; one would have to take additional years just to go up a notch ahead of everyone else and when I say up a notch, I’m talking about having more than a regular college bachelors degree. Beautiful campuses are available for anyone’s liking. University campuses and college campuses are well designed to make sure that the learning experience is at a high and that the learning is well absorbed. There are also ample dormitories near by the campuses and are often inside the campuses so that the student wouldn’t want to have to live far from their campuses. Colleges also offer scholarship programs so that it would be a lot easier for the students financially wise. These are just a few advantages of having a campus degree aside from the obvious educational experience one can attain and deserve.

What Makes A Good University

November 1st, 2008 by theProfessor

One of the biggest decisions an individual would have to make in the lives is to be able to choose a good university. A good university would serve as the individual’s stepping stone as he or she would make his or her way into the real world. A good university would equip the individual with adequate knowledge that would aid that individual in his or her endeavors for the future. Lastly a good university would be able to bring out the best in an individual to make him or her into a better member of this society.

One thing that would make up a good university would be the choice of degrees they offer to students. They must have an array of degree programs that would allow the student to make a choice as to what bachelors degree they would like to enroll in. They should also be able to boast of a few of their degree programs where in they are known to produce choice graduates for that particular field. These degree programs they offer should have curriculums similar to other top universities around the world. This is necessary to ensure that the graduates they produce would be competent enough to compete in the global world. This would ensure that their graduate would be at par with other students from other top universities.

Another thing that would make up a good university would be the professors and instructors they assign to teach their students. The professors and instructors must be those of high caliber. They must have finished a masters degree or doctorate degree for them to be able to teach.

At the very least, they must be currently taking their graduate degree while they are teaching. This would ensure that the students would be of good quality too if they have professors who are specialized in the field that they teach. Another thing that separates a good university from an average university would be the core values they teach their students.

Some universities would boast of a system that employs the idea of cura personalis or personal care in their tutelage of the students. The teachers would closely monitor the students and be very sensitive to their needs. This would bring about students who will equally be sensitive to other people’s needs. Some universities would boast of a system that employs the idea of independence. They would leave their students to do their own studying as a way of teaching them about the real world.

The last thing that would separate a good university from an average one would be their graduates. What better way to look at a university than by looking at their products. Their products would show how the university was able to train their students to stand up by themselves in the real world. A lot of times this can be seen in the rate of employability. Employers would want to hire the best of the crop and those students from the universities they prefer would mean that the university probably did a good job of teaching the students.

But basically it is not the university that makes you. You need to choose a university that would suit the person you are. But take these things into consideration when looking at universities. Each university has its own strength. It is just up to you if you can find some similarities in the university’s strength and your own strength so that it can hone your talents.

Many people are starting to get more exposed to online education. Many are now more amenable to distance learning. Many working people would online MBA degrees. It is now easy to get some business degree online. But many people still doubt the quality of the education one can get online. As students do not have physical interaction with their instructors, many are still wary as to whether online education can be at par with the conventional education that would commence in four corners of a room.

Although online education is rather different from the conventional type of education, it is possible that it is also a type of quality education as online education does have its strengths. The quality of online education, similar to conventional education, would be based on the academic institution. Academic institutions of high quality are powered by a mission. They must have certain core values that they follow in order to maintain the quality of education given. Another thing one would have to look at is the curriculum. The curriculum must be comprehensive enough as this in depth instruction would ensure the student that they have full knowledge about the subject matter. The teachers are also very important. They should have good teacher and student interaction where in they are in continuous interaction and contact with each other. The plans of the university are also essential. Further plans of an academic institution are indicative of the quality of the education of the institution. For them to have further growth, that particular institution would need added accreditation. For better knowledge, you may check out http://collegematchingservice.com/education/c/online-education

The economic crisis in the present has brought about a lot of problems to the society. Many people are getting laid off from their jobs. Many people have had big salary cuts due to the economic meltdown in the United States. Because of this, there have been many students who had to take time off to stop their bachelors degree studies due to lack of funding to pay their tuition fees. This is the reason why many students have started to check out their campus programs and tried applying for scholarships. Scholarships are usually given to students who meet a certain grade point consistently and have been checked to be unable to pay the tuition fee. Scholarships can also be granted to members of the academe who wish to further their studies and continue with their masters degree. But since different universities have different policies, one would need to check with the office in charge. One may also search http://collegematchingservice.com to see if which universities do grant scholarships. For those who want to look for scholarships, they should request for a form and fill up all the necessary information. They should give the university office all the required documents. Once they validated the documents and certified them to be true, they would let the student know as to whether the student was indeed granted a scholarship. With this, the student would be able to continue on with their studies as long as they are able to maintain a certain grade point consistently.

What If I Fail The Entrance Exam

October 30th, 2008 by theProfessor
theProfessor

One of the more terrible things that can happen to a student is the long wait for the test results of the entrance exams. But the worst part is when the student would find out that he or she failed the entrance exam.

It is rather depressing for a student to feel that he or she might not be equipped with the bachelors degree or worse the masters degree from the university that he or she wanted to enter. But do not fret. If this happens, the student has an option to appeal to the university office if they would consider accepting the student despite having failed the entrance exam. In some cases, the university office would schedule an interview with the student. After which they will assess as to whether or not the student is fit for the university.

In the event if the student is denied admission into the university, the student may request for a retake again after a year. Then this will again assess whether the student is now ready for the university. But do not worry and do not fret. This is not the end of the world. Do not feel like a failure in the event if you did not make the cut. It probably means that you were meant for something else or it was just the wrong time. Take it easy and reevaluate if you would really want to be in that particular school.

Before you think of applying to universities abroad, think as to whether you would want to undergo distance learning and enroll in an online degree program or enroll in a conventional bachelors degree program or masters degree program which would entail you to go to school everyday. Once you have made your choice, start searching http://collegematchingservice.com/ for all schools. If you wish to apply to an online degree program, you may look for schools at http://collegematchingservice.com/online-degrees/ .Make a list of the schools you would want to enroll in, Get their electronic mail or email addresses online. Start composing an enquiry letter about the different programs you are interested in. Ask for the range of the tuition fees for each degree you seem to be interested in. Inquire about the requirements for admission to that particular school. Once you are done with your enquiry letter, send the letter out. Once you get the answers you need, procure the required documents from your school registrar among other departments and offices. Send in the fees for taking the entrance exams. Also send in the requirements that the school would be needing to process the entrance exam which you will be taking. After that is done, start reviewing for the entrance exam. Colleges abroad sometimes require you to take the TOEFL. Check if this is needed and also check for other requirements so that you may process them. Once you are done, you may start reviewing. Enroll in review classes at tutorial schools if it may help you in advancing your knowledge about certain subject matters. Good luck with reviewing.

Tips While Taking An Entrance Exam

October 30th, 2008 by theProfessor
theProfessor

While taking the entrance exam which would lead a student to be able to enter a university to be equipped with a bachelors degree, the student should be calm. Do not rush when taking the test. Read each question carefully. Furthermore read the instructions with utmost care. Answer each question surely but surely. If there are questions in which you are not sure of the answer, leave it blank. Put an inconspicuous mark beside that number so you would know what numbers you would need to return to later. Do not spend too much time on one number, lest you might reach the time when you need to take another entrance exam to get a masters degree already. After you have answered everything, go back to the numbers which you missed. Read the questions carefully and choose your answer carefully. If you really do not know which answer to choose, pick either letter B or letter C. Psychological studies have shown that test makers often place the answer in either letter B or letter C. But remember to be consistent. If you pick letter B as your standard answer for unanswered questions, stick with that. If you pick letter C, stick with that answer. Once you are done answering everything, recheck each question if you have time. Reread each question and recheck the answers. Do not daydream and think about the other schools your saw at http://collegematchingservice.com/ . Concentrate on your paper. When you are done rechecking your work, you may now take the time to rest for the next part of the test. If the person administering the test or test proctor would allow you to continue on the next portion, do so until you finish the test. Good luck!
