Unnecessary delay of work (procrastination) leads to many troubles and failures. The habit of delaying work for a prolonged period of time is very common. This habit is mainly due to tiredness, concern about failures and negative feelings. It varies from person to person. Whatever be the reasons for procrastination, the results are almost the same. Some of the consequencesof procrastination are the following:
Obtaining poor points: If you go on procrastinating, then your gradeswill reflect it. If you leave your studies undone and wish to complete them later, then you will prolong your success. This is the worst effect of procrastination. For a student, postponing studies is a strong reason for their failure in class, poor grades and a doomed career. Procrastinating can be extremely harmful since it may affect your career in the long term. Some people lose their goals and are shattered by their procrastinating habits. So, beware before it actually harms you!
Overload: If you go on procrastinating, then your load of work will go on increasing. A time will come when you cannot handle the work alone and this may lead to failure. In order to avoid this, concentrate more on your studies and without being bored, get your work done as soon as possible. If you procrastinate, then your workload will never decrease. It is your work and you have to do it. Understand before it’s too late!
Failure in life: Suppose you want to be a great lawyer. While you see the huge stout books you avert your studies and your concentration is lost. This is perhaps because you want to do something more interesting rather than to concentrate on the lines of the fat book you hate. This is the beginning of procrastination and if you go on procrastinating, then your failure is imminent. Failing in class shall divert your attention from your studies altogether.
